The position
Within the post-production department of Picture-Element and Pep’s Film, you will independently produce Reels and short-form edits based on a detailed brief, drawing on our project templates and previously delivered cuts.
Varied content for demanding clients: snackable content and trending formats for Walibi Rhône-Alpes, tech product review Reels for TheiCollection, institutional content and archive material for The Olympic Museum, event aftermovies for various clients, UGC content edits for GoPro France.
Keen to show us what you can do? Two editing tests are available. One submission is good; both are even better:
Test 1: download the test files (archive of around 8 GB, make sure you have a good connection)
Test 2: access the test folder
Upload your submissions to a file-sharing service, such as Google Drive, setting access to anyone with the link, then paste the download link(s) into the application form.
Your missions
Edit Reels and short-form videos autonomously, based on a detailed brief
Log footage and select shots, justifying your choices
Rely on project templates and existing edits to maintain each client's visual identity
Incorporate the client mindset: one deliverable, one format, one deadline
Proactively bring new ideas to the table for new clients
The profile we are looking for
Proficiency in the Adobe Suite, primarily Premiere Pro and After Effects, including Dynamic Link between the two
Autonomous and efficient logging and assembly
Sense of pacing and visual storytelling, not just technical skills
Understanding of codecs and delivery formats: ProRes vs H.264, bitrates, colour spaces
Rigorous media management: naming conventions, folder structures, compliance on shared servers
Mac environment and experience working on network storage
At least one project edited from start to finish, not just student exercises
Bonus points:
Good comprehension of English
Subtitling and versioning: SRT, FR/EN adaptations
Basic knowledge of colour grading and DaVinci Resolve
Basic audio skills: sync, clean-up, simple mixing, broadcast levels
Foundations of motion design
Curiosity about generative AI tools and prompt engineering
And above all:
Rigor and strong organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
You welcome feedback and iterate without ego
You flag issues when you are stuck, rather than remaining blocked for three hours
Discretion regarding client projects under embargo
